Think outside the square when landscaping your children’s outdoor play area.

The old-fashioned sandpit provides timeless entertainment and is a necessary investment if you are in charge of kids. Hours of fun for the young, and young at heart. Although a trailer-load of sand dumped in a pile will do the trick, much enjoyment can be gained from bucking the trend of the basic ‘square-pit’ style and creating a more nature-influenced free-form play space. If you love the idea of the free-style edging, but don’t have kids to build a sandpit for, don’t worry, the same technique could be applied to a new garden bed as well.
