Becky’s life journey has led her home to an edible bamboo plantation on her dad’s farm. She is now value adding in ingenious ways.
I farm different varieties of edible bamboo species. I harvest the shoots myself and sell them fresh, mainly in Brisbane, but sometimes in Melbourne and Sydney. I have also developed preserving methods which have enabled me to sell shoots products like chutney online and at farmers’ markets. The business took some time to evolve as I tried different options, but I have become a passionate advocate of bamboo as environmentally beneficial as well as tasty and delicious.
