When there is rain around during the summer months and you have young chickens, it’s not uncommon to find that some become quite sick and even die. It’s often hard to fathom out what is wrong with them.
There is a strong chance it’s coccidiosis (Eimeria genus). Consider these symptoms: birds standing huddled and depressed with feathers ruffled and eyes closed; listless and disinterested in eating; diarrhoea containing mucus and often blood; sad miserable cheeping.
