This super healthy South American seed is quick to cook and makes a great base for a range of healthy tasty meals.
Quinoa has been grown in South America for thousands of years. Although technically a seed it may be used in many recipes as a grain. This easy to prepare food is highly nutritious, and gluten free. Quinoa is a good source of protein, containing all nine essential amino acids. It is rich in fibre, anti-inflammatory and a good source of antioxidants. It contains significant amounts of important nutrients such as manganese, magnesium, zinc, iron and folate and has a higher fibre content than many grains.
