When you buy a 15 year old home, particularly one that has been a rental for a while, it often comes with a whole lot of detritus. This could be: pieces of pipe, rusting star pickets, old pot plants, used car tyres, a disused plastic dog kennel, a broken chicken tractor, a kiddies’ wading pool or, in our experience, all of the above. You can choose to bemoan being left with stuff you need to take to the tip, or you can embrace the recycle ethos and find practical ways to use all the stuff you have inherited. I chose the latter.
